Nicole

Weedy Sea Dragon Teacher and Educational Leader

I hold a Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood Teaching and have a love for learning.

My teaching passion lies in creating beautiful and engaging learning environments in response to the children’s unique interests, needs and abilities. My belief is that children help set the curriculum, collaboratively with educators, families, and the wider community. These relationships are at the core of my work with children.

Early Childhood Education is about fun, whilst helping children to develop confidence, take risks, and create meaningful and respectful relationships with peers and their wider community.

When I am not in the sand pit or covered in paint, you will find me spending time and entertaining at home for family and friends, laughing (a lot) and creating lifelong memories. I am married and live on the Mornington Peninsula with my two beautiful girls and cheeky Labrador called “Bailey”.

Lauren

Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care

I’m honoured to be a part of the team at Flinders Kinder.

With a deep passion for early childhood development, I bring years of experience and a nurturing spirit to my role. Creating a safe and engaging environment for children to learn and grow is my priority, and I’m dedicated to fostering their creativity and love for learning every day.

Having lived locally on the Peninsula my whole life, I have extensive knowledge of the surrounding flora and fauna.  I am passionate about the beach program, where I will strive to instil a love and respect for the natural world and all things within it.

Nat

Certificate III in Education Support

I have an extensive background in education which includes working as a teachers assistant in the UK, running art and craft workshops for primary school aged children, doing Library story rhyme-time sessions, being an art tutor, sailing instructor and a multi activity instructor in the French Alps. Today I’m also a swimming teacher.

I’m loving being a part of the awesome team at Flinders, connecting with the children and their families and helping children at such an important stage as they prepare to transition to school. Especially loving the beach program and Resilience Project!

Marissa

Sea Stars Teacher and Nominated Supervisor

I have over 20 years kindergarten teaching experience in a variety of early learning settings in both Australia and New Zealand.

My teaching philosophy reflects a passion for nature-based education, providing opportunity for children to explore freely and take calculated risks within a supported environment. I believe children are strong, capable and resilient, and aim to provide a fun, stimulating kindergarten experience that promotes responsibility, self-confidence, teamwork and creative thinking, as well as a deep respect for ourselves, each other and the environment.

I’m excited to be a part of the Flinders Preschool team and the wonderful community that supports us.
